Among the hybrids that at present appear to be of major commercial interest are the Nova, Tacle andPrimosole types.
The Nova is a long standing crossbreed between Tangelo and Clementine.
The fruits, when cultivated in the absence of pollinators, are seedless, with a rind of intense orange color, and excellent organoleptic characteristics.
Ripening goes from December to February.
The Tacle is a crossbreed between Tarocco nucellare and Clementine.
The fruits ripe from mid December to January and are much appreciated commercially; they are seedless and keep such character even if they are cultivated in the presence of pollinators.
The Primosole is the result of a crossbreeding between Mandarin and Satsuma.
Its main characteristic is early ripening - mid October -.
The fruits are seedless, medium to large in size and with very agreeable taste and scent.
